mOthEr's dAy!

today was the perfect day, mother's day. it started when jd brought me breakfast and a beautiful bouquet of yellow roses and the sweetest cards from edy and lucy. we packed a lunch and went to a park down the road that overlooks a lake and has a really fun playground. we quickly ate our picnic and took lucy to the playground. the plan was to stay there, but the wind was so strong it was freezing us to death! so we went to st. paul to the children's museum for some inside fun. we had so much fun watching lucy discover new things. on the way home we had a scrumptious dinner at olive garden. i feel like the luckiest mom on earth to have lucy and edy in my life. they are truly the light of my life and so much fun. thanks to my husband for planning such a great day, it was perfect!

zOO with friEends

we met sara, ethan and savanna at the zoo today and also went to the conservatory, which was beautiful. the smell of all the flowers was so refreshing, just like a wedding!

jd joined a softball team on wednesday nights and the first game was a double header. he won both games and scored some home runs, woohoo! lucy was in heaven at the ball field. she was so excited to watch her daddy play, run back and forth between fields and clap when someone hit a ball. in between games i caught her pull up her shirt to nurse her bunny. bunny's gotta eat too!

cOmO zOO

today we went to the como zoo in st. paul. it was really fun for a number of reasons, the first one being that it was free!!! the girls just loved seeing all the animals. i was fascinated by the gorilla, but all lucy could talk about was the lion! we'll be back here real soon :-)

sunday FUNDAY

this afternoon we gathered at our neighbors'
house for fun...brian, drew, pat and chris. fernando, one of the crew leaders for turco cooked authentic mexican fajitas...mucho delicioso! there were a few other kids there so lucy was too busy to hang out with mom. p.s. in the picture you can see her and edy's new tigger teeter totter that the guys got them. she hasn't really been able to do it yet for lack of a partner, but sooner or later!

DATE NIGHT!

our wonderful friends, eric and sara, watched lucy and edy along with ethan and savanna while jd and i went on a date. it was sooo much fun and extra nice to spend time together with just the two of us which doesn't happen very often because we don't know any babysitters here! we went to eat at outback and then afterwards we went to a bar that was featuring dualing pianos. they put on quite a show, it was very entertaining. i'm trying to plan the next outing already! tomorrow night we are reciprocating and eric and sara get a turn!
