I've got some catchin' up to do
It's been almost five months since my last blog, so I've got quite a bit of catching up to do. My postings will be in order by date, so make sure to check back in the previous months for new stuff!
all is well!
Edy went back to the doctor today after being diagnosed with pnuemonia and fluid on her left lung three weeks ago. I'm happy to say she is completely healthy and also got a shot without even flinching, which was very impressive. My eyes started to get watery just watching, but she had her mind on the prize...a sucker!
Okay, maybe just one little post!
We went back to Rock Creek Farms today to pick the rest of our pumpkins (the last time we went it was entirely too windy, cold and Edy had fallen asleep in the car with pnuemonia and I didn't want to wake her). Anyhow, sadly, all the pumpkins, which had to have been thousands, were picked over, frozen, rotted and squished from the snow fall last weekend. Lucy had a heck of a time searching for the one pumpkin that wasn't squishy.
One last look and we gave up.Hooray!
coming soon!!!
Well, I think I finally worked out the hiccups that were keeping me from posting. I had to change the editor to the "new editor" or something like that. With that said, I'll be back in the blog world before long. I was really excited to get it all figured out and had big plans to catch up, but by the time I did I'm too tired to keep going, plus, I have Marley and Me waiting on DVR, so I'll have to postpone :0)

a visit from Kansas
My brother, Jamie and Charlie came over for a long weekend to visit and camp in the Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a gorgeous weekend, it's bugling season for the elk, who were scattered everywhere, including the campground. There was snow at the top of the mountain range and the leaves on the trees had turned that beautiful golden color that just instantly makes you want a slice (or two) of pumpkin pie. Oh, does that not happen to you? Anyway, it was so nice to have family here and am looking forward to more visits.

fall is in the air...and on the ground!
October first we hit up the pumpkin patch right after I picked up Lucy from her first day of school!!! The pumpkin patch was open and just waiting to be picked. The only problem was the weather. It was freezing cold and unbearably windy. We were able to cut one pumpkin off the vine, throw it in the car and get home as fast as we could to bundle up. Such a beautiful sight, though, you could spot the big orange patch from way up the highway. First time I had seen pumpkins still on the vine, which was cool.
