fall is in the air...and on the ground!

October first we hit up the pumpkin patch right after I picked up Lucy from her first day of school!!! The pumpkin patch was open and just waiting to be picked.  The only problem was the weather.  It was freezing cold and unbearably windy.  We were able to cut one pumpkin off the vine, throw it in the car and get home as fast as we could to bundle up.   Such a beautiful sight, though, you could spot the big orange patch from way up the highway.  First time I had seen pumpkins still on the vine, which was cool.
