last year i didn't allow the girls to help me with the trimming because i didn't want multiple broken ornaments. after the tree was done, when i turned my back they would grab a strand of garland and take off running throughout the house resulting in unraveling the whole tree and ornaments flying as they came off. i'm hoping this year they will have matured just a little!
